It’s time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a great one from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black plums, black currants, sweet cherries, dried figs, cedar, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, mocha, coffee, coke, tobacco and black pepper.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity bold and long legs.
Dry on the palate, and very fruity, with blackberries, blueberries, figs, raisins, licorice, vanilla, leather, spices, graphite, light vegetables, alcohol, peppercorn, coffee, dark chocolates, coke and earth.
Long spicy finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a young Cabernet from Napa. Already drinking nicely with lost a fruits and mild complexity.
Showing a nice mouthfeel with solid structure. Spicy and bold.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show the tannins.
Need years in the bottle to mature and get more complexity. Would be better in the next 5 to 15 years.
I had it all by itself, but a big piece of steak would be nice too. 😊
14.5% alcohol by volume.

This Napa Cabernet is very enjoyable. Still young and needs another few years in the bottle to mature properly.
Full bodied and smooth with black fruits and chocolate notes, vanilla, cedar, leather, spices, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Great nose with wild flowers.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show the tannins.
Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Petit verdot, 3% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume.

No idea when, where or why I bought this, but it was damn good, great! Colour was light but full of shiraz flavour, not as earthy as the South Aussie ones, and had a decent finish on it. I will buy again if I see the 2015 anywhere — 2 days ago
Maestro of St Péray! Complexity, length, energy and precision, things most don’t associate w/ Marsanne and Roussane. Ripe and baked yellow orchard fruits, orange, almond cream, marzipan, coconut, sea salt, crushed rock, acacia, jasmine. Plenty of gras but there’s so much zip from front to back, salty mineral goodness all the way. — 5 days ago
This is a very enjoyable Rosé from Paso Robles.
Easy drinking and gentle. Showing raspberries, citrus, cherries, limes, earth, light vegetables and spices.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.
Nice and refreshing. Good by itself or with food.
I paired it with a gorgeous sunset. I had it before, and I really liked it this time.
A blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah.
13% alcohol by volume.

Nose has ripe blackberry, black cherry liquor, (light) ripe strawberry with lingering spice notes.
Palate has ripe black cherry, light barrel toast notes, dark chocolate shavings, ripe blueberry with touches of sweetness and bitterness on the medium finish.
A decent bottle, but not as much of a standout as the 2010 vintage. Still years to go on this 2011, mild tannins remain, future bottles can be 2021+ without concern. — 4 days ago
