Reserva Évora Aragonez Alicante Bouschet 2017

This was great. Smooth and dry but very well balanced. Definitely smoother than any other Alentejo red I’ve had. A bit of spice with dark berries. Looking forward to revisiting — 3 years ago

El Paraguas

Atlantico Ribeiro Treixadura 2023

They say 6 of every 10 Michelin star restaurants in Spain carry wine by this producer. Can’t really confirm that, but I can tell you: it doesn’t just sit in your glass; it transports you. This isn’t a wine for sipping in sterile silence. It’s for spilling on a sun-drenched table, between bites of pulpo a la gallega and the laughter of people who know how to live. It’s Galicia in liquid form—wild, rugged, and unapologetically itself.

There’s a sharp, bracing acidity that wakes you up like a cold Atlantic plunge. Then come the flavors: lemon zest, green apple, and maybe a hint of peach that’s just ripe enough to make you pause. Underneath it all, there’s that minerality—like licking a rock (the good kind). It’s clean, it’s crisp, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome.

Évora Branco Colheita 2013

Ripe yet cool aromas with melon, peach, white flowers, a touch of toasted almonds, a salty note. Rich, yes, but also surprisingly very fresh. Enticing!
Medium bodied on the palate, juicy, fresh. Lovely slaty, rocky minerality on the forefront with some peach and pear underlining it. Nice depth here and nice length with a slaty tang on the finish.
Delicious stuff with quite some weight & elegance.

Évora Red Blend 2015

Best Portuguese wine I’ve had. But young right now. I’m excited to see what this wine is capable of in 5-10 years. Mouthful. — 3 years ago
