Regia Maestra

Nero d'Avola 2016

I’m a big fan. What was this? $16? It’s a big structured beast at this price. This grape is underrated. — 6 years ago

Smooth, lovely finish that grows in complexity. Grass, lemon, grapefruit, and some garlic butter. — 7 years ago

Riserva Chianti Red Blend 2014

This red blend was instantly delicious, with blackberry, sour cherry, and vanilla. Italian meals at Vito’s always favor wine; but this one is better than others. — 8 years ago

Cantina Sangro

Terra Regia Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 2018

Label has some style. Bit like a department store ad though. Dope color. Deep dark maroon. Seems to be holding up since 2018. Aroma of dark berries and savory foods. Maybe a hint of wet plants and maybe some mud. Flavors are mountain berries and açaí berries. Maybe a hint of basil. Cherry from the sweet side of fruit too. This is a great example of why Montepulciano has been an up and comer in Italia. Complex, balanced and juicy. Plenty of acids and good tannic structure. Really well made vino. Salute. — 6 months ago

Fruit a bit milder than most Chianti’s.

Subte blueberry aromas, almost nondescript nose. Bold blackberries with a kick of wood thereafter. Round and sweet, not tannic. Really enjoyed it, more so given the price (consumed with steak). — 6 years ago
