Bitter, hoppy, flavored of lemon and soft spice. Sad this brewery is closing. — 10 years ago
Holy crap. Great. I swear I'm not liking this beer so much, because of the label--though it is quite rad. Expressive nose that leads you to believe it will taste sour. It does. Sour enough, but not so sour that makes you gleek. Flavors of black currant, blueberry, and beer starts gaining complexity as it warms to room temp.
Tasting like Chinon, of all things. With notes of: Horse blanket, hay, blue and red berry fruit, a healthy dose of brettanomyces, along with a velvety mouthfeel, like Merlot and a tad creamy.
Gorgeous, rich purple color with a crema-like foam on top.
Smelling the empty glass: oak and tobacco. Wow. — 11 years ago
Nose of chicory, cocoa powder, and an interesting minty/menthol note.
Pretty substantial roast notes with creamed coffee, bitter walnut, and touch of underlying caramel. Dries out just enough with a touch of bitterness to keep it drinkable.
Rich, malty red with nice roast influence. — 7 years ago
Porkslap: ridiculous branding, absurd label but for its type, a pretty serious beer. — 8 years ago
One of my favorite NC beers. It's a very balanced beer, and an overall outstanding IPA — 9 years ago
Pretty much flawless. It's between this and the St. Bernardus ABT 12 as the greatest readily available Belgian beer on the planet. — 10 years ago
Pretty good, but definitely not the greatest beer I've had. Had it next to Pliny the Younger, and it held its own — 10 years ago
Glad I can add this to a wine app. Im pretty sure what beer i love just not sure what other wines my wife will love. I need to learn what wine I love. — 11 years ago
Pretty good for a pumpkin beer. Tastes like Halloween.... Kinda. — 11 years ago
Don’t remember too much about this cept it was pretty tasty! — 7 years ago
I’m not a huge beer person, so I’m pretty picky with beers, and this one is quite luscious! It’s fruity and in my opinion easily enjoyable.. Would definitely recommend it to other ladies who aren’t huge on beer but like to join in sometimes :) — 8 years ago
Pretty pretty pretty good. Hint of bitterness on the finish should dissipate with more time. Bad enough I have to wait on my wine, now with my beer too? 👎 — 9 years ago
This is the Wicked Weed brewery from Ashville, Nc. The beer is the Bedeviled, a Belgian Golden Ale. With a little haze and big body, this reminds me of a Belgian triple. Maybe like St. Martin's. 9% alc. Banana bread toast, ginger and lees. This brewery, which specializes in sours, is top notch. They remind me of Russian River. — 10 years ago
Coffee tar reduction, dark brown sugar, mocha and Nutella note. Pretty nose belies a dark eel of a beer that slithers into a pipe tobacco shadow with vanilla, dark toast, brittle and smoke. Rounds out with broiled beet. — 10 years ago
Terrible label, pretty tasty beer. Bit sweet, yeasty. Made with honey and cherries which is pretty much it. Seriously though, how f'n creepy can they make that elf. — 11 years ago
Really good beer. Slightly hoppy and lots of flavor. — 11 years ago

I’m pretty sure this is my first still beer. Really funky with a lot of wood notes, cedar, pine forest, lemon rind with the pith, some dried apricot, and an herbal quality. This is fascinating but with the explosion of orange wine not as interesting as probably 10 years ago. This is still a fantastic sour beer but hard to get past no carbonation. The idea of packaging this beer as all beer would have been from casks for the last 3,000+ years is pretty cool. Anyway I’d rather buy wine for this profile. — 6 years ago
