Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc, which isn’t always a positive note for me, but the 12’ Pur Sang radiated such energy and clarity that made it impossible to not fall in love with. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, gooseberry, and fragrant white florals intertwined with subtle vanilla. On the palate, a delicate fruit sweetness was perfectly counterbalanced by herbal nuances and piercing, superb acidity, along with a crystalline texture and mineral backbone. Light golden in color.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing limes, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth, minerals and black pepper.

Spicy finish with bitter almonds.

This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc From the Loire Valley in France. Rich and elegant. Much more buttery than I expected it to be.

Still young and needs at least 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. I had the 2014 not too long ago, and it was even better.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Good by itself or with food.

A very casual Sauvignon Blanc from the very upper and eastern side of the Loire River in France. A more flinty and brighter acidity to its neighbor Sancerre (across the river to the west).
