Another Wednesday Wine Committee in the books. Great hosting by @Bill Makens . 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine all served blind.

Sicilian Chardonnay. That’s a first for me. Great depth and complexity to this wine. Again, didn’t pick up a lot of oak...fruit really shines. Juicy fruit, clove, banana bread and puréed pineapple on the nose with a very round and fruit driven profile. My guess was Margaret River chardonnay from Australia. Seemed like a dead ringer. Quite enjoyable.

Sicilia IGT Chardonnay 2017

This remains already for us for over 20 years a remarkable chardonnay with an excellent pq ratio. Golden color. Some tropical fruit in the nose and a good balance between sweets and acidity. To enjoy with or without food. We visited a relatively small domain in 2005 and assume Planeta grew along in these years. Constant high quality over all these years! — 3 months ago
