Pomarium Estate Pinot Noir 2021

Fresh cherries and strawberries, orange peel, vanilla, and licorice. Also background notes of plum, pine, and earth . Right now, scoring this as it is drinking, but with age (it needs some mellowing, but certainly not decades) it could move up a few points. — 10 months ago

Peay Vineyards

Elanus Estate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2012

Still soaring. Definitely a few more years left in it. A short decant is all it needs today — 14 days ago

Cristom

Jessie Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2006

9.3

I enjoyed this pinot, as I enjoy many from Cristom (in the Peay/Radio-Coteau family for me). It didn’t taste “old”, as it still had some fruit, but it was smooth and subtle. Would drink again. $45. — 3 years ago

Peay Vineyards

Ama Estate Pinot Noir

Pale ruby in color. Aromas of cherry, smoke, and spices. On the palate, it’s fruit-forward with well-balanced acidity and tannins. The higher ABV stands out for a Pinot Noir. Drinking well now despite its young vintage. — 2 months ago

Peay Vineyards

Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2021

Here we open things up a bit more vs the west Sonoma coast bottling. Same pale yellow but citrus is fresher, white florals more vibrant, some underlying tension below the mellow lemon curd profile — 9 months ago

Radio-Coteau

Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

9.4

Wet volcanic rock, burgundy, gasoline, fireworks. Just a flavor explosion; less cherry and acid than the Peay. As good, probably better. I had the ‘13 of the Savoy in Hawaii, and it was also excellent. “Tastes like a quarry” — MRM — 3 years ago
