With Darric and Melissa and pork chops — a month ago
I picked up a couple ‘88s recently as I’m always looking for birth year wines and opted to open this one first. Rough label, but provenance was great.
Consumed from bottle over the course of two hours. After 10-20mins of blowing off so 30+yr funk, this became a total surprise! Faded ruby with bricking but that’s the only sign that this had age. Aromatics sported sweet cherry tobacco, older floral/potpurri, and a mix of red and black berry fruits. Juicy and vibrant on the palate! Shocked. Core of red and black fruits carry the profile with fig, herbs and a little bit of leather. Good spine of acidity here. Not much tannin at the finish, but it’s classically old Napa merlot. Drink up and enjoy! — a month ago
Pale lemon-straw in the glass with medium intensity. Bright citrus notes of lemon, lime, and grapefruit with apple, peach, pineapple, and subtle floral hints. Fuller-bodied than many Sauvignon Blancs, with a rounded texture that’s balanced by medium-plus acidity and a mineral-driven finish. A hint of bread dough. Opens up with time. — 4 months ago
Whole bottle disappeared, I believe I enjoyed it… fruity and full bodied. — 20 hours ago
Not normally a fan of California Merlot, but this one surprised me. Very drinkable, but with enough complexity. Excellent with a bowl of seafood stew. — a month ago
Loved Ten Degrees- reminded me of Confluence! Outstanding!! — 2 months ago

Tried this in anticipation of our Napa 2025 trip. We both liked it a lot. Even Jim who doesn’t normally care for Chardonnay! — 21 hours ago
