Opened several hours prior to dinner; likely not enough time. The nose is inimitably Italian with some indescribable dark fruits trying to peer past the earth and tobacco for which this wine has both in huge abundance. On the palate, the fruit is restrained and again, loads of earth, herbs and tobacco. The structure is a bit imposing at this point but certainly enjoyable. I’ll just be patient with my remaining two bottles. — 7 days ago

On open nose is a bit earthy. Mineral. A pleasant hint of porcini.
Palate has great tropical fruit. Very mineral. Great mouthfeel. Just feels luxurious. Really caresses the palate. Almost like a very good meursault. Delicious. A hint of unctuous was but in a good way. Just a kiss of an echo of honey tang that balances it out. Some lovely saltiness. — 2 months ago

Nose is blueberry spice and blackberry. Elegant. Very integrated. Deep. A subtle richness. A hint of old school well made California cab. Very deep. Sensual. Some porcini. A ray of lilac shining through a window.
Palate is so elegant in fitting with the house style. Just pumps juiciness. Elegant blackberries. So silky. So juicy. A hint of spice but it’s more in the background. Some blackberry licorice. Maximally delicious. I can’t believe this is Aglianico. Wow. Stunning.
Finish has this palate coating freeze dried blackberry thing. So juicy and long. Like the flavors somehow self replicate.
On day 2 elegant plum flower on the nose. Really pretty.

Nose has a hint of porcini. As it opens this recedes and you get some pine. Blueberry. Blueberry flower. Some pine.
Palate is blueberry. Some spice. The internal aromatics are like someone sprayed a spritzer of blueberry perfume all over your palate Very delicious. Not rustic at all. Not modern. But refined. Some nice grip. Some pine internal aromatics.
This is almost like barbera from campania in a sense. Not an aged. But unique and fun to drink. Like this spice blend. Nutmeg allspice cinnamon. Clove. But all blended and subtle. Woven into the fruit.
Not a Great wine. But a wine you want to drink once every few months and share with equally jaded friends. Very good and very interesting. — 2 months ago

Fresh and fruity. Delicious fruit. Meyer lemon. Nicely mineral. Very bright. Some lemon pith and zest. Some smoke. Balanced. Lovely.
Very well made. An early drinker. — 2 months ago
Rich and succulent. Pairs well with Christmas starters, even here up in the arctic. Bought from the winery last summer. — a month ago

Needs 30 minutes to open. Totally meh before that.
Nose is fresh blueberry juice. Earth. Savory. Hint of licorice. Panoply of spices. Black peppercorn. A hint of clove. Licorice flowers. A lovely balance between dark Aglianico and perfume. Incredibly expansive aromatics.
An hour in nose becomes psychotic. So cliche I know but Aglianico in burgundy. Deep crushed Violets. Some lilac. So sensual. High end perfume.
Palate is spice. Delicious blueberries. Silky texture. Blueberry blueberry flower. Blueberry licorice. Much more volnay like than typical Aglianico. Much lighter and more feminine. Perfect plate cling. So juicy. So elegant. The Most Burgundian aglianico I’ve had.
Finish is so Elegant. Blueberry perfume. — 2 months ago
