Last of the weekend Ovids and exactly what I was referring to in other posts. The Experiment reds are generally fantastic. Bold and rich and unique. @Matt Duncan these last two wines are what makes Ovid special. — 6 years ago

First bottle was corked (first ever Ovid that had any issues). 2nd bottle perfect! — 9 months ago
An experiment. So consistently strong, and clearly has longevity. No rush to consume these…
So decadent, going close to the explosive line, but doesn’t cross it. Blueberries and rich black fruits mesh with sandalwood and brown sugar. Weighty on the mid palate with relaxed acidity. This is epic. Still in its prime so consume now. — 2 years ago
This is 2019 Ovid Experiment W6.9.
I have really been looking forward to trying this one (my first Ovid white!), and this gorgeous sunny day presented me ample time to sit on the patio and contemplate it! Bright tropical notes on the nose. But I think the real beauty is the texture. It’s like a flower blossoming on your tongue. The floral bouquet of the Rhone varietals makes a strong appearance mid palate. — 5 years ago
Fragrant on the nose. Somewhat heavy tannins on the finish. Needs to breath a few hours prior to drinking. — 6 years ago
Worth waiting for... phenomenal wine. @Austin Peterson good stuff. — 6 years ago

subtle notes all around. not offensive but not impressive. — 10 months ago
Stellar Barolo. Definitely of the new school, lighter color, lightly structured, but radiant fruit in a refined style. Decanted 2hrs. Perfect pairing for veal/osso buco, maybe less so for a roast. Some debate whether more age would refine the fruit further or cause it to dissipate. No idea but have two more so can experiment! Made me want to get on an overnight to Piedmont tonight. — a year ago
We had a busy weekend with some friends going through a few bottles. We started with the nice invigorating Riesling from Figgins. Not like the 2020 however. we paired it with some different light cheeses like Brie, Muenster cheese, an apricot flavored cheese and a garlic flavored curd cheese. They all brought different flavors out of the wine. Fun experiment. Interestingly, one of the bottles was carbonated 🤔, the yeast must have still been active. — 4 years ago

1 hour decant(some chunky/fine sediment). A beautiful dark magenta color. On the nose: Subdued notes of dark fruit, tobacco leaf, herbaceous, charred wood, pencil shavings. Taste: silky, layered wine with dark cherry/plum, earth, iron, smoke, graphite, and a peppery mineral dark chocolate medium plus finish. YUM!!! — a month ago
