Nicely evolved from half bottle, with nutty aromas, ripe apple, a bit of orange blossom, a salty whiff, just a tiny hint of marcipan. So intriguing. Needs a moment in the glass to fully develop.
On the palate this starts off rich & very ripe but then the juicy acidity kicks in. And the minerality & the hint of tannin. Good depth & precision with over ripe lemons, orange peel marmalade and ripe yellow apples.

Beautifully rich, golden hue to match the rich palate with round viscosity and notes of ripe yellow apple, nectarine, apricot preserves, orange blossom, white rose, honey, beeswax, and vanilla.
A blend comprised of 44% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, 8% Petit Manseng, and 8% Viogner.
ABV 15.2% — a year ago
Worried it might be a little natty for my taste at first but the funk blows off quickly to reveal a fragrant & expressive wine—orange peel, orange blossom, fennel pollen, pumpkin and a gorgeous salinity.
It’s a wine that really sings with seafood. Had it with Provençal Cod with olives and fennel.
Her winemaking talent really shines in the texture—particularly the finish. Definitely a lot of skin contact here, but the tannins are elegant and the finish is crisp, salty and refreshing —no graininess or bitterness.

Charles "Champagne Charlie" Heidsieck was one of the first to recognize the importance of the U.S. as a Champagne market. A blend with 40% reserve wines, fruit and floral bouquet, with orange blossom & yeasty notes. Fine bubbles, nice mousse, showing quality. Outstanding rich flavors of apple, pear and biscuit, well balanced, good structure, creamy. Long finish ending with toasty nutty oak & mineral notes. — a year ago

Aromas of tangerine, floral.

Delicious citrus, orange blossom and honey. Flavorful and not bitey.
Solid Napa selection. Spend a bit extra and enjoy this Chardonnay.

Nose is fantastic. Orchard flowers. White peach. Orange blossom, honey, apricot. A great long finish. Just not as mineral/acid driven as the best Savennières in more classic vintages. Just slightly off dry. Has the ‘18 ripeness that I’ve found nearly overwhelming. Nothing wrong with it but the wines are less crisp and versatile. Will probably avoid purchasing more of the vintage going forward. — 3 years ago
