From 375mL. The “Rosé de Saignée” pours almost a fuchsia color with a transparent core and a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry, red apple and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Round and rustic in style. Lovely. Drink now. Disgorged February of 2023 — 5 months ago
Precise with ripe fruit that is bone dry on the attack. Wish I had more. — 4 years ago
Clear and bright garnet. Nose scared me at first being nothing but dirt. After opening up it gives black cherry, black cranberry, and forest floor (a.k.a., dirt). Medium light on the palate which echoes the nose. Medium plus acidity and sneaky medium tannins. A firm Burgundy-style Pinot Noir that’s a great match for high-end Old World fare or New World salmon, duck, or pork dishes. NV like so much from Champagne, so drink it (up to a year from) when you buy it. — 6 years ago

This bottle was off - Le Petit Clos is a fav of min. I’ve had 3 bottles previously of this vintage, all well integrated, smooth, leaving you wishing for more. A bit unbalanced, lacked floral notes and had a strong acidic finish. I’m going to just leave my other bottles for a couple of years before revisiting. — 4 years ago
Nature Gamay of very good quality, in the spirit of Marcel Lapierre (his nephew has told me). At the same time greedy, accessible, and with a very beautiful aromatic density which unfolds especially when one gives the wine time to air out. Superb for its price.
— 5 years ago
Smoky apples and yeasty deliciousness — 6 years ago
What a wonderfully aged Champagne this is! Extremely fragrant, billowing out of the bowl with notes of toasted walnuts, lees, apricots, dried figs, Georgia peaches, and creme. It looked beautiful in the glass as well. It was a beautiful deep golden yellow, with very fine bubbles. The pallet shows signs of oxidation like true matured Champagne, with youthful focus, exhibiting flavors of lemon tart, mousse, green apple, minerals, and a lovely bisquity finish. Bravo Georges Vesselle! Worth every penny. Drink now through 2020.
