At Bricco celebrating Dana's swearing in. Dry, earthy, needed an hour. — 2 months ago
The 2022 Frappato Vittoria Bell'Assai wafts up with purity, displaying an array of violets, lavender, crushed blackberries and a complicating whiff of dusty earth. Round and juicy in style, it possesses cooling acidity and crisp wild berry fruits that cascade throughout. The 2022 finishes wickedly fresh and with medium length, leaving a pleasantly crunchy, mouthwatering sensation behind on the close. The Bell'Assai would make an excellent pairing for a wide variety of cuisine. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

For a big winery, Planeta, in my experience, makes very good wines that reflect their terroir faithfully. This is quite earthy on the nose initially but, with air, bright raspberry/cherry fruit blossoms, along with clean minerality. Zesty and bright on the palate. Great wine for many different kinds of tomatoey pastas and for pizza. — 24 days ago
Wow - this is an incredible Sicilian wine. — a month ago
Dark ruby with aromas of dark cherry, forest floor, and earthy. On the bud, it dark fruits, tartness, and a mild spice note. The finish is medium. — 3 months ago
Way better on day two after opening. A lot of earth and herbs. Plums, cherry, good amount of tannin. I feel like if this was distilled it would be fernet. There’s a lot of herbs and forest greenery, but it still manages to stay light and fruity enough to make it really enjoyable. Looking forward to trying more Sicilian wines. — a month ago
