Wow, what a bargain at a tenner! Fab for a supermarket wine; juicy and full bodied but not heavy. Incredibly well balanced with bags of red and black fruit but sufficient tannin and acid. Classy. Equally good with food or without. Would buy this again for sure... — 2 months ago
Layers of cacao on this nose,
Garden veg, fresh and bountiful, green pepper, tomato stalk, vanillin, medium oak, Solid acidity. This is a classically well rounded Cab - though one that has a heck of a lot of finesse and beats most of our domestic cabs at the price point. — 13 days ago
I didn’t know what to expect with this Cab, but I really liked it. $20 is a good price range, fruit and smooth. I will buy again. — 5 days ago
1988 was the firstbrelease of Montes Alpha wine when Montes became one of the first premium wineries in Chile. Today Aurelio Montes continues leading the winemaking effort. A blend of 90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Viognier. Very dark red with aromas of berry fruit and cedar spice notes. On the palate blueberry and cherry flavors with cacao, leather and vanilla oak. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with toasty spice. Nice value. — 2 months ago

Opens up nicely with a soft finish. Very nice. — a month ago
A very fine Trasañejo, a traditional style of fortified, oxidatively aged wines from Maálaga, similar to a Sherry Oloroso. While Oloroso is made with Palomino, Málaga’s Trasañejo are normally made with Muscat and Pedro Ximénez. This particular one is 100% PX from vineyards in the Montes de Málaga subregion (vineyards surrounding the city of Málaga), aged in old American oak botas for an average of 19 years using the solera system. Notes of caramel, butterscotch and salty nuts. Long, savory finish. — a month ago

The Purple Angel lives up to expectations. A great blend of Carmenere and Petit Verdot which actually has a vibrant purple edge in the decanter. It is early days for this one but it can already be enjoyed with some decanting time but I think it is better than the 2016. Deep ruby and purple colour, the nose is a combination of Napa Cabernet and Australian Shiraz, rich, smokey, plenty of dark fruit and some nice burnt rubber and tar. On the palate there is blackcurrant, cherry, smoke and green and black pepper. This has a nice long finish and while it is definitely young, the tannins and acid are not overpowering. Definitely plenty of ageing potential and I think this will get better and better. Rating now is 9.2 but I’m sure it will end up at 9.5 in the future. — 3 days ago
