Villa Barcaroli

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

This 2019 is the Montepulciano d’ Abruzza I’ve been waiting for for over a decade . A perfectly balanced gem. Leather and cherry aromas , bright fresh cherry fruit. Snappy finish. Perfect at $17. Per bottle — 7 days ago

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2018

At Rigo Spanish Italian Restaurant trying lots of different dishes with this $29 wine. I was expecting a more macho wine for a Montepulciano but this was an ok option. — 21 days ago

Vigna Asinone Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2016

If I could I would give it a 9.35. This is the 4th bottle I have over several years and it keeps on evolving in a positive way. Nose is terrific and fruit, acidity and tannins are melting together. I still have 2 so probably the last one will be at peak 🤞 — 7 days ago

Cantine Dei

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2018

Dark and brooding with deep flavor, dark cherry, cedar, leather, and tobacco. Good freshness and gentle grip.

It came out of the bottle with sharp edges and harsh tannins, but really came together and drank beautifully after a 1.5 hour decant.

S.C. Pannell

Langhorne Creek Montepulciano 2016

See previous Delectable notes in 2017 and 2019. Quite a rich Ruby red. Aromatics of black and blue fruits, a cranberry note with a tarry charcoal note on nose and palate. HH said coal dust and I totally agree. Steve Pannell is recognised as Australia’s premium maker of alternative varieties and this wine proves that. We made his Nebbiolo the champion wine of the Toowoomba Wine Show a couple of years ago. Have the last one in say 2 years time. — 25 days ago
