Reserve Old Mission Peninsula Pinot Noir 2022

Excellent, perhaps the best wine we purchased on Mission Peninsula this trip. Very subtle hints of spice, blackberry, and even tobacco. Loved it. — 6 hours ago

Pessac-Léognan Cru Classe des Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

2014 vintage. Last tasted 6.2.23 (9.3). Light-medium body. Decanted with very little sed. Tasted after 30 minutes and two hours. Some fresh, green herbs along with tobacco and milk chocolate notes. Unperturbed and completely confident. Slightly better than the last visit and feel like another decade/near-decade will find this at a 9.5. 4.8.26. — 4 months ago

R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2008

A pretty color of ruby, with a wide brick/ reddish rim.

Full bodied and elegant.

Dry on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing red currants, plums, cherries, wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and black pepper.

Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 15 year old Rioja Reserva is drinking very nicely now. Showing nice complexity at this point.

Still young and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. A very tasty aged Rioja, and a good food wine.

Robert Parker 95 points.

I Had this vintage a year ago, and it feels pretty much the same.

A blend of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha, 5% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano. Aged in used American oak barrels for 6 years.

13% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$55.

Hard Point Paso Robles Grenache

Lovely ripe nose - dark fruit, spice. Not dense on the mouth, ample fruit and soft tannin. Depth, a little heat, elegant and with years ahead. Felt like a baby even on day 2 and 3. Decant needed on day 1. — 4 months ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2021

Great second wine here. Yes probably too young but with 2 hours in the decanter this was singing. In another couple of years 94. Super wine — 8 months ago

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1964

Decanted prior to service; enjoyed over the course of several hours. This bottle of the 1964 pours a garnet color with significant rim variation; medium viscosity with light staining and significant signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with mostly tertiary notes at this point: cherry fruit leather, actual leather, decomposing log. On the palate, the wine is dry with tannin fully integrated and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. Alive…but this bottle is old and tired. Drink now. — a year ago

Finger Lakes Dry Rosé Blend 2024

Another solid vintage of this 100% Cabernet Franc Rose’. Medium pink color. Aromas and flavors of strawberry, watermelon, cranberry, pink flowers, as well as a touch of citrus and spice. Long finish, crisp acidity and slightly creamy texture. Bone dry, fresh and clean. Well crafted and consistent vintage after vintage. Great starter wine, John P! — 24 days ago

Finger Lakes Dry Riesling 2024

Another solid vintage of this FLX Dry Riesling. Light gold color. Aromas of orchard fruit, honeysuckle, citrus and wet stones. Flavors of green apples and pears, lemon/lime, white peach and a consistent note of wet slate. Long and crisp mineral laden finish with mouth watering acidity. Light bodied, refreshing and bone dry. Very well balanced and totally food friendly. — 2 months ago
