Revisiting this burly beast almost a year later and it’s still as it was before: terrific. Impenetrable dark crimson with a little more bricking going on. Vanilla, lavender, a good bit of oak, and blueberries on the nose. At almost eleven years old, this doesn’t remind me so much of a standard Napa Can but rather a nice Bordeaux. The heat from the alcohol has definitely settled down and is presenting some wonderful balance. There’s still some fruit here with layers of blueberries, cherries, and cranberries. Tobacco, coffee, and leather on the palate. This is a wine that’s absolutely singing right now. All hail to Last Bottle. Just like I said a year ago, powerful, ripe fruit, and great structure. — 7 years ago

Super interesting. Reminiscent of a gamay with a beautiful nose. Medium high acid and a fairly thin unstructured body. Perfect for pork or duck. — 5 years ago
This falls in my favorite style, low alc, spicy balanced and beautiful — 6 years ago
Bold and delicious. The nose fools you at first... Much drier and more mineral than I expected. — 7 years ago
Lemon and stone fruit with mineral undertones, balanced and would be nice with seafood. — a year ago
Roussillon trip #2
Grenache/syrah blend, biodynamic. Gourmet cuvée, medium body, juicy, on the purity of the fruit.. the two grape varieties are well respected and recognizable. A little refreshed, it's a lot of fun.
Assemblage grenache syrah, biodynamique. Cuvée gourmande, corps moyen, juteuse, sur la pureté du fruit.. les deux cépages sont bien respectés et reconnaissable. Un peu rafraîchi, c’est beaucoup de plaisir, c’est gouleyant à souhait. — 4 years ago
Very nice Pinot. Probably the best I have tasted from Santa Barbara. Bright and layered red fruit. Tastes like Burgundy! — 6 years ago
Pulled it out of my basement this evening, suspected it might be far past it’s prime. Cork disintegrated while opening, had to use a cheese cloth to filter. In the end, freakin’ unbelievably lusciously delicious. Wow! So sad this is the last bottle of half a case from over a decade ago! — 7 years ago

This is a delicious Chardonnay from Santa Lucia Highlands in California. Soft and elegant. Fruit forward and engaging.
Nicely balanced and complex, with a nice mouthfeel. The high alcohol is well integrated.
Already drinking beautifully, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
