There’s a lot going on with this wine. A yeasty nose, and a Puckett Granny Smith mid palette with a bit of a peppery gravel finish. Was a delight with roast chicken, sourdough, dandelion blue cheese salad: every bite revealed new character in the wine. Drank the 2015 in 2020. — 6 years ago

In honor of San Diego legend Tony Gwynn. We have not been blessed with many winning teams in this town and absolutely zero championships (I don't count the '63 AFL title) but #19 was truly something special. I'm not sure how he was/is viewed in other parts of the nation but to me he was the greatest pure hitter of his era. George Brett, Boggs, Mattingly, Puckett and Molitor all come to mind as non power guys that got way more pub than him but absolutely nobody was more reliably consistent from the mid 80's to mid 90's than T.
