Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2019

Too young. Needed hours of air. Disjointed. A good amount of acidity. Some fruit showing through. There’s a lot of spice and herbs too. Will hold other bottles for a long while. — 3 months ago

Opus One

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2013

Opus One. Yes!! There is lot going on here. Perfumes of rosemary on the elegant side and that leather/cigar thing with blackberry hint on the firmer side. And they do not conflict. Going to let the last six of this vintage rest for another 5 years — 7 months ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

This should cellar longer. Maybe another 5 yrs before I try again. Decanted over 3 hrs. Tight in first hour. It needs a lot air now. Many layers and complex fruit. It lingers. Meaty after taste. Dark fruit. Earthy. I liked it very much and look forward to the next one. — 2 days ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2002

Sometimes no other wine will do for me than old-style (13% ABV) Bordeaux, and this lovely medium-aged Pauillac absolutely fills the bill, redfruits, structured but not really tannic, great acid balance really lifts the fruit, not a blockbuster, but very fine nonetheless, I could drink a lot of this!! — 6 months ago

Heitz Cellar

Lot C-91 Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Some vegetal/menthol notes on the nose. Another fine but not notable wine. Was hoping for a bit more bite tannic backbone. — 21 days ago
