I’ve been fascinated by these older Lindemans bottlings ever since my first one aeons ago. Low octane, high acid Hunter shiraz with a confused identity makes for a rather interesting drink and table convo. The only thing Burgundian about it was the colour. Haha.

My first bottle of this 91’ Bin 8203 was unfortunately on the cusp of death. I decided to pop open another one and thankfully, second time’s a charm. Shitty cork still, but the wine poured out in great shape. Sweet red fruits, almost like preserved cherries; floral, leathery, and a touch spicy, with a juicy, silky palate. Actually a cleanskin of the Lindemans bin 5687 Traminer Riesling and I am not sure if the Riesling was instead a semillon at that stage.
The wine was absolutely past its peak, but had some freshness and a long after taste.
Bought on auction from James Halliday' cellar collection.
1979 was a great vintage in Hunter Valley
Surely happy I tried, but not the greatest.

After 4 hrs I go back on the remaining half btl of the wine which was left unattended on the kitchen bench with a random cork inserted since its own obviously crumbed at the opening.
Well, don't ask me, but the wine has opened up aromas earlier hidden of white chocolate, macadamia, hay, ginger, apricot jam, a bountiful of flowers, lemon grass, English breakfast tea and so much more. Not so sweet at all and very enjoyable now. Definitely something I might not be able to experience again perhaps.

An excellent modern rendition of Margaret River Chardonnay. Oak is there but not overpowering blending nicely with the stone fruit. Robert And Sandy Oatley became billionaires when they sold Rosemount to Southcorp (Penfolds and Lindemans) and since then Rosemount hardly exists 😟😟. Anyway this is their new venture on a much smaller scale. Bob Oatley died in 2016 aged 87. Apart from Wine the Oatleys have a huge legacy with ocean yacht racing with “Wild Oats” winning 8 Sydney to Hobart line honours. — 6 years ago

I rarely post beer because I have a separate app for that. However, I will make exceptions for lambic. To my palate, Drie Fonteinen is amongst the last great Lambic breweries and Geuze blenders. I was very fortunate to travel to the brewery last summer and it was like a pilgrimage of sorts. Unfortunately, I never got their while Armand was still alive. That being said, his spirit of very much there. This oude gueze is Blend No. 37 • season 18|19 originating from 2016, 2017 and 2018 Lindemans wort. It was poured from a 375mL at just below room temp. A nice little pop from the cork. Light effervescence. Apricots, grapefruit, lemons, horse blanket. Good acid. Long finish. Refreshing. World class. — 2 years ago

Pale Lemon in colour. Some initial caramel notes, light fruited and light weight from the cool climate Orange district. On the palate under ripe nectarine with grapefruit notes - quite a delicate Chardonnay with light acids. Has Medium intensity for Its light palate weight. Philip Shaw has quite the CV as a winemaker. From Chief Winemaker at the huge Lindemans, headhunted by the Oatleys to be Chief Winemaker at Rosemount which became a world wide brand before being sold to Southcorp (now Treasury) for a fortune to the Oatleys, and a stint with Treasury all the while developing his vineyard at Orange now run by his sons and he has gone on to his next venture. He has collected International Winemaker of the Year twice in 1988 and 2000. — 4 years ago

These old Vintage Ports from the likes of Lindemans live forever. Rancio spirity aromas with dried fruit raisin notes. A thick mouthfeel - goes to all corners - of profound intensity. Notes of cough medicine which is not unusual. Will still be going strong in a decade or two. — 4 years ago

However Lindemans has never let me down, no matter how far back in time I have been
This was my wife birth vintage and it was amazing
Complex and fresh, obviously on the tertiary notes, but truly outstanding and not tiring at all to drink — 6 years ago
