Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Nice entry with beautiful mousse. Lime zest, green apple, lemon, white grapefruit w/ pith, pineapple flesh, white nectarines, herbaceous, white spice/ginger, graham crackers, saline, sea fossils, limestone marl, volcanics, chalky bits, yellow flowers & white roses, jasmine, gentle, crisp, acidity with balance for days, mid tension/structure with a smartly polished, elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds that long sets on spice and volcanics. — 12 days ago

This 12-year-old Domaine Jean Dauvissat “Heritage” Chablis — popped and poured — is still drinking quite well, maybe not quite at the level of the 2014 Premier Cru bottles, but with the solid acidity, still very nice!! I just found 4 bottles in my cellar, and had no idea they were still there!!
@Lyle Fass, if you see this, other than reassuring me of my abject stupidity for burying these in a box with 1985 Raveneau Grand Crus (these were on the bottom, WTH!?!?), I’d love to hear any thoughts you might have on this wine!! — 3 months ago
