Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Pairs great with mushrooms — 5 years ago

Smoky. Dark. Inky. Leathery. Good legs and a blueish purple color. Dry, with leather on palate, and a deep blackberry and licorice taste that pairs well with pecans. — 4 years ago

Medium lemon yellow fine , persistent perlage . Quite rich and ripe on the nose with some roasted nuts , lemon peel , some camomile , still quite restrained and a little closed. On the palate again quite full and rich , ripe lemon fruit , orange rind , roasted nuts and a creamy mouthfeel , certainly enough acidity to balance but on the richer side . Good length and lightly toasty finish . This is good now but will probably improve over the next few years and last well a further 5-10 . — 2 months ago
Opened the first night and not impressed, was closed but the following night it opened and morphed into a wonderful balanced wine with cocoa notes in the nose, full body and great finish. — 6 months ago

,"reds joust spectacularly with the kinds of dishes you think about when there is a cool spring evening that might call for a fire pit— steaks, grilled vegetables, burgers—but the perfect pairing is a rich, slow-cooked Daube de Boeuf, the classic red wine–beef stew of the region." — 3 years ago

Alexandre Pagliano
One of the very best vintages they did recently. Elegant, complex, good density and length and that undeniably superior quality of this cuvée. We love it. — 9 days ago
