Dark ruby coloration. Some translucency. On the nose, ripe plum, raisin, anise, chocolate, amarena cherry. On the palate, lots of amarena cherry- fruit forward, transitioning into some plum, raisin, anise, chocolate and very strong acidity. Not my favorite style of Amarone with the acidity being so prominent and missing that lush, velvety texture and full body. Long finish of raisin, plum and chocolate. As the wine opens up more it is more enjoyable. — 2 months ago

#1000th Review# One of my all time favorite, this can easily crush many Amarone. Very young, no signs of tertiary notes at all. Sweet and warm spices, raisin, sweet cherries, mocha, dark chocolate and bright acidity. Best on day 2, very smooth texture. 15% abv and it’s well balanced. One of the best wines I’ve had in a while. Cidery and almost toeing the line of bruised apple. Later morphed and really became full of stone fruit. Apricots and canned peaches. This wine is alive. Just consume it over a few hours and watch it change in the glass. — 8 years ago

So so good. This is an inspiration wine for me - I started making a wine as an homage to this style a couple of years ago. So happy I did. I love this expression of grenache - you get all of the fruit, with some nice earthiness but minimal tannins and just a lot of depth in what is inherently a “simple” wine. More moderate frame (relatively speaking) showing some consistent grip throughout, surprised by the acid support this has, makes for a plausible argument about whether or not to continue aging.
