Clos Erasmus

Laurel Priorat Garnacha Blend 2017

9.4

Quite some complexity has developed in the last one and a half year since my previous bottle. Delicious now but still upwards potential in the coming 1-3 years. — 3 days ago

A great producer. Their top Cuvée is quite expensive.

I recently bought some Clos Erasmus, that obviously needs some years of cellar time. This is excellent qpr, I think I payed like 30€ for the Laurel. At that price point you get a very well made, serious wine!

Forge Cellars

Classique Seneca Lake Dry Riesling 2021

Very interesting and very different from the three previous single vineyard Forge Rieslings we tried. Floral, with a more distinct but still mellow hint of Riesling plastic poncho. A lot of white pepper and cumin, followed by a grassy finish. — 4 months ago

Estate Grown Cave Fermented Lake William Red Bordeaux Blend

Excellent nose. Very balanced and smooth. Thoroughly enjoyed to top off the tasting experience in the cave tasting room at Jarvis Estates. — 2 months ago

Heron Lake Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

Quite Chablis like. Just 600 bottles made. Not super complex. More on the subtle side. Lemon and touch herbs 🌿. 12.8%. One of the the producers which are on the burgh side of the spectrum. — 3 months ago

Sonoma Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Well made and structured cab. Blackberry, licorice, espresso, brandied black cherry. Give it another 10-15yr. — 22 days ago

Rippon Vineyard

Lake Wanaka Mature Vine Riesling 2020

Lime zest, coriander, tangerine, minerals, hints of honey, petrol, and dairy cream. Wonderful finish that reminds me of peaches and cream, really elevating what's a more subtle nose. — 2 months ago

Clear Lake Trousseau

9.1

Note that this is the “North Coast” Trousseau, not “Clear Lake”. 2022 vintage. Beautiful wine - cherries, tobacco, a bit of leather, rose water. Almost like a very light Barbaresco. Lovely wine. — 5 months ago
