Have had the 2009 vintage twice, in 2024 at a tasting and in early 2025. The first was the best of the tasting, and the second was a fine compliment to spring leg of lamb. dark fruit and smooth tannins. $68 when purchased in 2024. — a month ago

Super fun. It’s like a drink for the multitaskers: you can get all the joy of whisky and LaCroix but in one drink and it helps save bees. Oh and it tastes good and refreshes while intoxicating. If it were a person it would be that hip friend who does all the sustainable things but not as performance and still accepts me even if I fuck up and use paper towels occasionally. That friend will still be friendly and refreshing. I don’t know for sure Siponey would accept me but I like the line this can walks. — 5 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2016 pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe black and red fruits: cassis, blackberries, raspberries, red plum, tobacco, a touch of bell pepper, earth, old wood, and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A classic expression of Bordeaux during a period where the lines between New and Old World have been blurred. This is tasty and showing well in its early drinking window. Drink now through 2036+. — 20 days ago
