2 Pi R Priorat Red Blend 2021

Darker fruits, raspberries, vanilla, fig, dry minerals and gentle tannins. Quite nice. Organic. Priorat is always good in the dead of winter. — 8 days ago

I actually don’t know Priorat so well, but I love the region and this one hits the mark! Will look out for the GV5

L'Ermita Velles Vinyes Priorat Garnacha 2018

Intense red fruit and color for a wine that was immediately approachable. Structured and balanced for cellaring. Delicious with lunch! — 2 months ago

Les Terrasses Velles Vinyes Priorat Grenache Blend 2021

Vintage 2021 | Either the wine is closed, either the smell is introverted. Berries, chocolate, cedar. Obviously still tannins, but good balance and nice bitters. Good example of old vines wine. — 14 days ago

Dits del Terra Priorat Carignane 2021

High acidity and quite a lot of tannins, but well rounded. Black and blueberries with herbal notes. Excellent with food, quite good by itself. Needs to breathe a little. — 2 months ago

Costers del Priorat

Petit Pissarres Produccio Limitada Priorat Grenache Samsó 2019

Powerful aromas, lush black fruit, subtle black olives,
Round but light on the palate, tart blackberry acidity tingles the tip of the tongue, minerally tannins (the "slate" wine from soil class in March 2022)

Clos Mogador

Priorat Red Blend 1998

Opened about three hours prior to service for color check and make sure the wine was sound since I was taking to a tasting. It was subsequently decanted about an hour prior to service. The 1998 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing still, with notes of tart and ripe red fruits: Bing cherries, ripe raspberries, underbrush, new leather, spices, minerals, dry rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Everyone was stunned how young this came across. The fruit is still so fresh and the structure remains impressive. An evergreen wine and a perfect example why Priorat is so special. Drink now with some air and through 2038. — a month ago
