Good expression of varietal character: hay, peach, dried stone and orchard fruit. 86/14 blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. I don’t understand some of the harsh reviews here on this wine and producer. If it doesn’t taste like Chardonnay, buy a Chardonnay instead. There are not many single varietal producers stateside of Semillon, let alone majority Semillon blends in US or elsewhere around the world. This combination makes great dessert wines in Sauternes, so a little love for the table wine version, please; greatness is possible. Try Semillon wines like this with an open mind and give them a chance. — 14 days ago
Pale yellow-pink, excellent clarity. White floral and strawberry notes in nose. Mellocreme candy, strawberry and slight tangerine peel flavors, good acidity, dryish. White pepper aftertaste with some skin astringency but attractively so. Good affordable drinking here — 3 months ago
Really enjoyed this wine at Jeff Ruby’s. Deep red blend. Nice to sip on with a good meal — 4 months ago
The 2017 ‘Walla Walla Valley’ Merlot is sourced in equal parts from the Seven Hills Vineyard and Ferguson Vineyard. Needing an hour in the decanter to be fully aroused, once awoken you experience dark currants and sandalwood aromatics, woven together with with shades of milk chocolate and roasted figs. The palate is fresh and vibrant with intense tannins that collide with the core of dark fruits, espresso bean and violets on the palate. With incredible tension and solid viscosity, this sturdy Merlot will enjoy a long life in the cellar. Drink 2022-2035- 93 — a month ago

100% Hunter Semillon
At peak after 41 years, no bad
It has just the universe in the glass
From lemon meringue to lanolin, a little toasty ginger, lemongrass, white pepper, coriander and.....
The balance is magnificent
The nose seems on the sweet side and so might appear the first sip, but the finish is loooong and dry. The magic. Best semillon I bought so far from the James Halliday's collection and it will be hard to match — 19 days ago
Plums, blackberries, raspberries accented with clove, and hints of sweet tobacco greeted me on the nose. There is a mixture of riper and more tart fruits on the palate, which are joined by hints of black tea, pepper, tobacco, light dried herbs, followed by earthiness and pencil lead. The wine’s structure was well balanced so that eventhough the body of the wine was medium+ to full, with fine tannins that gripped a little on the finish, it also had enough acidity so that it didn’t feel overly weighty.

Foxy. Black currants and dust on the nose with oak and some cocoa. Savory, tannic, palate staining and a little sweet, but with enough acidic lift and freshness even at 14 years to make for interesting drinking. Some sediment has fallen out, but not enough; more time will help.. Very tasty. — a month ago
Nice example of a US Chenin. Aromas of yellow apple, white flowers and chalk. Pallet shows flavors of honeydew melon, apple, lemon and almonds. Loads of minerals on the long finish. Very refreshing. New World Chenin that has Old World qualities. Solid producer. — 3 months ago
