100% Chardonnay, The fruit hails from the north of the region, not far from Maconnais, only about 3% of the vineyard area is planted to Chardonnay. Bright lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral notes. On the palate flavors of crisp apple, pear and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus and mineral spice. Nice! — 6 months ago

From a hot vintage comes a balanced Brouilly from Descombes in magnum. Complex aromas with lots of raspberries, a hint of forest floor emerging as some time passes. The fruit profile is among the lighter side of the Beaujolais 2015 that I have tried. Good acidity and medium tannins. A serious wine, though not super chuggable nor structured enough to be a great food partner. But pretty enjoyable as it is. — 4 years ago
