Les Champs Fulliots Monthelie 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

10 years in the bottle. Needed a weekday break. Tried over 5 days under Argon. This is excellent. And very classy. Closed at first - then after 2 days a real beauty. Deep dark cherry, 🍒 hint forest floor, bark, tannins almost fully resolved 13.5%. Hint Turmeric, black tea. Drink Now! — 6 days ago

This was better in its youth in that it’s lost some energy and the oak has not aged out of it. It’s fresh and nice but it didn’t hold up that well. — 5 months ago

Gorgeous and ripe nose of dark cherry and late season red cherry fruit. Really pure and lovely earthy tones underneath. Palate is elegant with lovely grainy tannins and exquisite and ripe dark red cherry fruit. So pure and fresh. Terrific energy and sap. This has a lot of material and will need air to be fully expressive. Really fragrant now. Terrific old library book aromas. Gorgeous sweet fruit on the palate and great fruit soak. Lingering finish Terrific inner mouth aromas and richness but so fresh. — 4 months ago

Nose is a combo of lovely sweaty earthiness, a hint of butter and incredible minerality. Some wild mint and also baking spices. Terrific complexity. Palate is so focused and so rich yet racy as racy can be with exhilarating acid and minerality. Bousey is just so good. Quiet guy and goes about his business and never fails to impress. Long finish that gets to every nook and cranny. So juicy and teeming with energy and endless depth. Fruit is so focused and oak treatment is masterful. Almost a 9.5. — 8 months ago

Opened and decanted. Tasting earth, leather oak on the finish. Dark fruit up front. Nice but wish the toasted oak was tamed a bit. — 3 months ago

Gorgeous and opulent nose of dark cherries, mid season cherries, lovely fresh wet earth, penetrating minerality, decaying leaves and more. Stunning nose. 9.5 nose. Not that complex but so pure and precise. Palate is so juicy and ripe with gorgeous cherry fruit and epic cleansing acidity and terrific freshness. Cuts a swath across the palate Nose starts to get a lipstick like intensity after it airs out. Terrific tannins that are ripe and juicy. Really great energy here and length. Just a terrific value. — 3 months ago

So killer. Needed something bombastic yet focused tonight. This did the trick. Gorgeous nose of butter, minerals, sweet wood, and wafting wet earth. Classic. Palate is rich with great amplitude and killer acids and just outrageous length. The length pushes this to 9.5. The terrific purity here allied with the length is pretty thrilling. It just grips your back palate and does not leave. — 6 months ago
