... and then there was dinner. Grilled balsamic / soy marinated skirt steak, roasted and herbed baby bell peppers, and grilled ciabatta, paired with Zuccardi’s, Concreto, Malbec from Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. Delish!!!! Vintage 2017. ABV 14%.
To start, as noted, the Ruinart! Paired with ribboned cantaloupe, sugar snap pea, ricotta, and tarragon salad. 💕 — a month ago
Very nice surprise! Definitely floral, pears, and oranges on the nose. I think I can even pick out the passion fruit. Smooth and slightly crisp. I’d definitely keep a few bottles in stock. — 2 months ago
This is the Tupungato Alto Malbec. Plum and tannins. Still young. Delicious Maybach. — 2 days ago
First drink since finishing an antibiotic course and awaiting my root canal in a few weeks. This is zippy fresh but has enough of a bass note- it reminds of some of the amphorae matured trepat I’ve tried-so I stay interested. Also doesn’t shout summer wine. Blackberries, & compote, good balance between fruit & dry. Nicely done for about 19$. Jose Pastor importer — a month ago

Red stone fruits in the nose. The 2013 is very smooth today. It has nice body without being jammy. Dry with a long finish. — 16 days ago

As you start your walk through their redwoods, there is a stop to taste their Chardonnay. The walk is relaxing & beautiful. However, you could still smell the char in the air as you stroll. The fire came down the mountain to their property line. It was an on-site fire crew from San Jose, Ca that protected their property. When I left our visit, there was a strong smell of char in my shirt from the breeze blowing down the mountain that had burned above them.
Their 16 Chardonnay is good. It’s Napa/Sonoma classic in fruit profile and not crushed in new oak which is the way I prefer it. Green apple, lemon, lime, some pineapple, cream, medium backbone, limestone, grey volcanics, lilies, white flowers & jasmine. The acidity is quite refreshing with a nicely polished & not overdone finish. Wire to wire a pleasant Chardonnay.
