Baudelaire Beer iO Saison 2018

Labeled as “vintage”, this was bottled in January 2018. WAY better than what this beer tastes like without the added time in bottle. Outstanding sour saison from JP. — 2 months ago

Track 13 2017

Excellent sour from the folks down in Dexter, Michigan, made with starfruit, raspberries, and red lava salt. To paraphrase Jack from Sideways: “Raspberries, yeah. Not the red lava salt.” Still an excellent beer! — 8 months ago

Costa Dei Villa

This is a good, but not great JP. Much lighter than I was expecting - reminds me of a Gose but without a lot of what makes Gose beers interesting (e.g., lime notes, saline). A good beer, just not one of my favorites. — a year ago

Noel de Calabaza Special Ale

Absolutely fantastic brown sour from JP. Molasses, malt, and just sour enough to keep it bright. Awesome. — 4 months ago

Matame Ahorita Gose

Cloudy, pear-gold with flecks of sediment, shock white head that puffed like a marshmallow. White pepper and powdered lime funkiness, medium ripe apricot, tropical fruit cup, zucchini bread, oranges. Salted grapefruit, yeasty- albumen, white pepper, lime peel, pith, and zest, lemongrass, thyme, dried chives, an ashen salinity, tart gooseberry, and lemon seed. Thought this one might have been too old, but was just right. — 2 years ago

La Cosecha Sour Saison

Terrific new sour saison from JP (okay, maybe not that new - bottled in November 2019 - but new for me!), this is a collaboration with Perennial Ales. Brewed with peaches and apricots, it’s one of the better sour saisons I’ve had from JP. Highly recommended. — 4 months ago

Gammaredux Ale

This a sour IPA from Jolly Pumpkin (but a collaboration with Monkish). Not an IPA fan myself, but this was really good. Downgraded my rating maily because of the huge amount of sediment this thing threw - made it a bit tough to fully enjoy. But, I still recommend it! — a year ago

Forgotten Tales of the Last Gypsy Blender Series II Vol. I

Smokey citrus nose, distinct smokey salt and citrus peel on the palate. Amazing beer, weighty flavors, yet lithe on the palate. Our only bottle, seriously disappointed we didn't buy more. 7.0% ABV

Jolly Pumpkin's notes are far better than my own, since I seem to be the first one posting. We're enjoying Blend A tonight, they also have two other blends on this series.

"Try Blend A for an earthy and smoky delight. Hints of sweet lemons, wet leaves, and smoke, that finishes quite sweet with reminiscent flavors of coconut, bourbon, corn, and oak with very little sourness.

Brewed with beech and cherry smoked malts, bourbon smoked sugar, Kiawe smoked sea salt, lemons and lime peel, for a smoky, lemony, deliciousness."
