Long acids. Very good. Bought from a great little wine shop in Petworth in the South Downs here in the UK, just after having a fantastic lunch at a spot called E. Street Bar & Grill which is a terrible name for an absolutely exemplary little bistro with great seafood and wine. And with the perfect slightly surly but extremely accommodating and professional French maitre d. Anyway, if you happen to pass through check it out. — 2 years ago

Started out a bit thin and tart but was impressive when I pulled it back out of the fridge on the second day. On the nose tart blackberry, bramble, boysenberry, dark chocolate bar, hints of smoking grease fat on the grill and charred wood. A rich medium mouthfeel of well balanced fruit, acid, and tannins with blackberry, black cherry, cocoa powder, hints of cracked pepper, pie spices, Chambourd, and grill grease on a medium-long finish. Surprisingly impressed for the price; fantastic value (if you have the patience to wait a day).

It’s hard to argue with the clearance menu asking price of $90 a bottle at a bar and grill kitchen establishment. Big fruit but well balanced overall - definitely outshone by the 2014 Silver Oak, though. — 6 years ago
Quite full and together. Surprisingly ready to go - just a short decant evens out the tannins, but in a nice way. First had this wine (2011) with steaks at Bar Nestor at San Sebastián so had this with steaks on the grill. Quite deep fruit. Great acid. Oak has fully receded. Tannins medium minus - not sure there’s any reason to wait. — 2 years ago
Berrys with hints of spice and oak on the nose. Mixed berry compote, cranberries, with smooth, soft tannins. Easy to sip (@ Blue Mountain bar and Grill, Fort Davis TX) — 2 years ago
I can’t hardly believe my luck - found this at a local grill house bar restaurant in MD for $85 on their cellar clearance wine menu. Truthfully I hadn’t had this nice of a #napacabernet in quite some time. Bold fruit on the nose but some nice earth, acidity and elegance on the finish with fine tannins. Unmistakably Napa and delicious. Beautiful pairing for upscale meatloaf. — 6 years ago
