Elegant P-F but yet another one that J found fuller bodied and I found thin, plus that vaguely antiseptic nose and edge on the backend that I get from a lot of these...well short of the Vergelesses a few weeks ago....but then it is a P-F. Couldn’t stand up to roast chicken in creamy morel sauce, disappointingly — 3 years ago
Very nice muddled earth-stewed red fruits and blackberries. Definitely a stereotypically natty wine; no surprise being imported by J&F, but still a lot of complexity and balance here with a short decant. Nice and lovely for a fairly entry level Kekfrankos despite being a bit powerful/extracted, with potential for short-term cellaring. — 4 years ago
You’ve always needed a Grenache/Gamay blend in your life, you just didn’t know it. A cherry red color with purple flecks and long legs. After some time and air this really blossoms. Blue and black berries dominant on the nose with a little bit of herbal goodness for kicks. A touch of pepper because why the heck not?
Half Grenache and half Gamay from Ardèche in the Rhône. An odd blend but it most certainly works. The acid is prevalent and welcome. A definite cough syrup vibe happening, but in a really pleasant and gracious way. While sweeter on the nose, it’s more dry and developed in the mouth. Plenty of fruit on the palate with some spice and forest floor. Super fun. — 10 months ago
Dynamite- toasty, tropical nose but laser focused palate- unreality and acidity carry the palate. — 3 years ago
Honestly I don’t remember the last time a wine made me shriek “F#iK YEAH” so... let’s lead with that this is sapid AF. One of those wines that is so layered but also you get them all at the same time so you are smacked down with I dunno...perfection? Really rich in ripeness that feels like a clove studded orange to me. Something that hits like lemonheads but maybe gold and mysterious incense...gold myth and frankincense? It’s hard to give precise taste metaphors when a wine is unapologetically itself. Why find tasting notes on a wine if the wine could be the taste itself? — 2 years ago
Nose has crushed cherries & raspberries, ripe summer watermelon, steely notes and faint moist chalk.
Palate has tart raspberry, watermelon rind and fresh cherries. Nice acidity.
A fun wine for an almost 80°F day in the Berkshires, atypical for early April. I believe this to be our first 2020 vintage wine.
A blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc & Négrette. $12! — 3 years ago
Great white burgundy, typical of a young vintage and has great potential. Grass and lemon peel, lightly Oaked, buttery, with great acidity and a nice long finish. — 4 years ago
