This wine is a very pretty, light salmon color in the glass. Aromas of cherries, strawberries and Meyer lemon leap up on the sniff. It is a fruity nose, and there is a mineral aspect with some salinity, too. On the palate the Grenache shines, ripe as hell. Some raspberry notes come through along with the aforementioned bright red fruit. Acidity is crisp and fresh and the finish lingers quite a while. It's a pretty good wine, especially considering the critter label. — 3 years ago

Won this wine in a wine pull! Went really went with Greek marinated grilled chicken, grilled lemons, wild rice and cucumber salad. Balanced, lemony, lemon grass, not fizzy, touch of pepper and herbs- foods with lemon or herbs and this is a good choice!! — 5 years ago

Stunner! One of the absolute best wines I’ve had from Chile. This is a kitchen sink blend that poured inky & brooding. No signs of age whatsoever. Immediately wafted gorgeous Left Bank notes of cherry, currant & cassis but there were also plum, blackberry & boysenberry. Distinct charred vanillin almost bourbon oak like. Subtle cedar & medicinal herbaceous quality that added depth & character. Huge plush full throttle on palate, definitely felt the ABV, aromas transferred to flavors all leading to long persistent finish. Kept opening & evolving over several hours. Impressive delineation of flavors, distinctive, integrated tannins, balanced… going back to hunt down every bottle they have. — 3 years ago

Hunt Country Vineyards Cream Sherry: Caramel. Raisin. Nut. Honey. Oak. Medium-long finish. Consisting of 75% Riesling, 16% Cayuga White & 9% Cabernet Franc, this fortified wine was deliciously smooth, demonstrating great balance between sweetness & alcohol. Way above my expectations! Had this about 9 mos ago. Developing nicely. A real find from Argentina. Light Ruby with aromas of fresh red berry fruits and notes of floral spice. On the palate cherry with a touch of raspberry flavors adding in fresh spices, very soft integrated tannins with a great balance. Long finish ending with fruit and mineral character. Nice! Grab a bottle if you find one, it’s worth the hunt! A fav!! — 6 years ago

Lots of berry and a little smoke. Tasted a little off and didn’t hold up a second night as have previous bottles. Almost like it has a slightly funky layer (not in a good way) just below the fruit. This is a “go to” for us, but while still good, not AS good. Will be interested to try 2016. If not better, we will be on the hunt for a new medium-price Zin. — 8 years ago
