2014 vintage. Mostly merlot and cab franc. Should be like a Bordeaux but its riper and fruitier. The cab franc really comes through. A fuller body than you generally get in a NY red. Soft tannins and good concentration. Very drinkable right now. I'm getting more.

Jul 26th, 2015Brightly acidic, needs decanting. After decanting somewhat tannic. Dry. I thought pretty good for what it is but points off because wife did not like.

Some really odd varietals in here, not all vinifera. Refreshing, but strange.

Apr 27th, 2014While watching the sorry looking Giants tonight(lol), I decided to open up a 2010 Mill Brook Hunt Country Red! I am still on my "New York state wine quest", and so far so good. This wine is a pretty decent "table wine". Not as good as the last, but decent. This wine is a red blend of Merlot, Cabernet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel, and its from Dutchess County, New York. They give a great description of facts on the back of the bottle, like 100% Malolactic Fermantation, barrel aged for 9 months, and harvest time from October 15-30 2009. Like other post, I get into more details down below! Color- real deep maroon Bouquet- dark fruits like blueberries and plums, with earth Palate-dark fruits like black raspberry, and dried herbs. With some spice, and gripping tannins.
