*. The wonder is, what is this wine trying to be. Not soft like I feel like a Meritage should be. Really a typical S. African wine. Even has a spicy Pinot note. Could have achieved as much or more, with less $. $20. — 11 years ago

Musty giving way to tannic, 2004 just out now I believe ( at least new arrived at the store I picked up at ), $27, a really good good wine -- chicken, lamb, etc., -- a slow sipping wine, to enjoy slowly. — 10 years ago

This wine had great dry, earthy body more reminiscent of a St Emilion than a Chianti Classico and I was very happy with that. — 10 years ago

Brightly acidic, needs decanting. After decanting somewhat tannic. Dry. I thought pretty good for what it is but points off because wife did not like. — 10 years ago
