WOTN for most of the group. So much stuffing. Way bigger than my preference but screw my preference. Wild berries, red currant, stone fruit, sandalwood, clove. Non-stop finish. Probably one of my favorite wines I’ve tasted this year. — 5 months ago
Ripe, but not cloying. Peaches and acid. — 3 days ago

The bottling by Au Pied du Mont Chauve.
Vibrant, glass clinging purple red. Abundant nose of ripe black cherries in a wooden bowl. Belies the medium full palate, which is a complex melange of juicy black cherry, red apple, plum, and ripe blueberry all supported by bright medium plus acidity and firm (medium plus) tannins. Young but still satisfying, you'll get quite a bit from this Beaune. Should develop well through 2032 or so. — 5 months ago
Just a tad shy of the 2017, I’m still enthusiastic about this vintage. Similar color and a familiar capgun and flint scent that eventually morphs into popcorn (no butter) and settles into yellow pears and lemon.
Spicy and deep with complexity, it’s only one point off from 2017 and that’s because it’s a bit rounder. Still, it has nicely balanced acidity. Generous finish. One of my favorite North American chardonnays ever. — 9 months ago
An additional couple of years in the cellar since my previous bottle have helped. It was good in 2021 but is more delicious now. Nose shows sappy cherry, mid-toned musky florals, graham cracker crumbs, and stony gravel. Silky-textured, it’s got a very Burgundian amalgam of damp earthiness and dark cherry, with just a subtle complementary hint of oak. Very nice acidity. In a medium frame, it’s got a long, detailed finish. — 3 months ago
