Monster of a wine, stunning depth & extraction / concentration of flavors so impressive: no signs of age - this has at least 20 yrs ahead, tons of ripe almost stewed dark fruit (black profiled blackberry & prune, black cherry) w/rich soil, dusty edges, evolved over time w/some hi-toned expression, scorched Earth, caramel, coffee made appearances... endless length w/sturdy structure yet caressing tannins. Gorgeous nose. Mid season cherries, spice, mineral. Just opened and this needs at least an hour. Having it with dinner in a few hours. Palate is super. Lacey and so well in it with terrific finesse. Terrific inner mouth aromas. Complex and ethereal. Light as a feather but very substantial and builds spectacularly on the finish. Which is super long and flowing with cherries and minerals. Coats the palate. Brilliant and ephemeral. Will fill out over next two hours and get sweeter and more complex. Tannins are so refined. It’s almost like hi end Champagne. Stunning. My score will go up.

Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018

A barrel aged Sauv Blanc!? Still light in color but a bit more golden. Very subtle and weird nose when opened, getting more peaches and tropical fruits a few days later. Bigger body and silky ("weighty") and more creamy and vanilla bean notes. Table Wine online Get to Know Sauv Blanc class, and my #gotm2020 for May! Wasn't a huge fan at class, hi enjoying a few days later with baked goat cheese! — 4 days ago

Where do I start w/this juice: unbelievable complexity & density for the price! Started out absolutely savage w/dank forest floor, freshly turned Earth, mushroom, acrid creosote smoke, loam, camphor - some kind of hi-toned note, minerals and loads of berry fruit. The nose stank in the best possible way. Cerebral and infinitely enjoyable. Mellowed out over the night & smooth, med bodied/tannins w/hint of zingy acidity on tongue. — 2 months ago
