2017 vintage. Medium body. Upon opening, fairly compact for a “resto vintage”. The usual tar and dark cherry notes. The longer this was open, the more fanciful it got. French Toast. Cola nut. Chambord. Eucalyptus. White pepper. Pomegranate/hibiscus. Transitioned into a Barolo/(red) Burgundy hybrid. Not enuff structure to go more than 4-5 years in this current uniform. Would attempt another open field tackle again in the near future tho. If you wanna crush an above-decent Barolo tonight without infanticide/ca$hi$h/non-compliant tannin issues, you could do immeasurably worse. 12.15.24. — 2 years ago
Opened yesterday; on the counter overnight. On the nose: loads of loads of red fruit, toasty sandalwood, a touch of hi-toned va, and spices. On the palate: excellent hi-toned acidity, good density, wild strawberry, sour plum, some tannic bitterness..transitioning into finely grained tannins. Better than my last btl. — 5 years ago
V07. Had to check in, since I've been so happy with Boulard-Bauquaire BdB, and frequently compared it to this wine. Much more age, but, and I hate to say this, but I think the Boulard-Bauquaire is a better wine (than this btl anyway, my last btl of V10 was stunning). Anyway, the 07 is rich and slightly oxidative in style, with loads of lemon, almond, a touch of copper. On the palate, lovely acidity, hi-toned lemon, grapefruit pith, almond cream, and copper-infected honey...ok finish. — 6 years ago
I picked this bottle up and put it down trying to decide if tonight was a special-enough occasion. In the end, glad I leaned this way. Perfectly mature, and better than.my past btl from a bit over a year ago. Helped to warm up a couple of degrees above cellar temp. On the nose: damp earth, floral perfume, touch of brown sugar, black raspberry, tea leaves, asian spice...a panoply of flavors. On the palate, lovely acidity, tart cherry, great density, hi-toned wild strawberry, mineral notes, sea salt..fantastic complexity. Tannin still showing grip on the finish, but this is perfect aged red burg for my palate. — 6 years ago
The first of the 2017 vintage.
Nice, but a bit rougher than the earlier vintages. Still a good deal at the price — 7 years ago

Purchased at winery: legit Priorato here with that schisty style, took forever to open, disintegrated cork, and I almost lost hope - eventually yielded stunning eclectic & complex nose of dusty minerals, cherry & blackberry compote, medicinal, spice, a hi-toned note, really evolving. Smooth rich luxurious on palate, great density & mouthfeel, tons of minerals & red & black fruit w/just enough acidity to balance it all out. Persistent finish. This isn’t their hi end bottling, and it isn’t Clos Mogador or anything like that, but this is absolutely Priorato with some more life ahead. — 4 years ago
Amazing wine served in Hisa Franko. — 5 years ago
Lemon, grass, passion fruit, great texture — 6 years ago
A very nice.summer syrah. On the nose: loads of red berry fruit, a touch of oak spice, cola, very bright and still very primary. On the palate: loads of cracked black pepper spice, hi-toned red fruit, juicy and weightless. Juicy on the finish, which shows just a touch of finely grained tannin. Very nice for drinking now. — 6 years ago
12/24 beautiful cabernet. 2011. $45. It was 100 % cab. Blended from various Vineyard lots. It stayed in the caravan for seven days and softened into a very well balanced California cab hi marks 89. — a year ago
This wine . Is amazing. Hi great berries and a full mouth — 5 years ago
Hi ratings for having a dry cork (that crumbled!) but the wine is still huge. Wonderful body & chewy, cherry/anise w/ terrific balance.
Really happy w/ how this wine has aged! — 5 years ago
Holy cow. Opened yesterday, notes from over 24 hrs open. So much better than my last btl: everything has fallen into place. On the nose: soft mushroomy funk, black cherry, wild strawberry, spice, soft leather. On the palate: fantastic acidity, wild strawberry, cinnamon spice, good density, very hi-toned, and soft, very finely-grained tannin on the finish. Yum. — 6 years ago
Where do I start w/this juice: unbelievable complexity & density for the price! Started out absolutely savage w/dank forest floor, freshly turned Earth, mushroom, acrid creosote smoke, loam, camphor - some kind of hi-toned note, minerals and loads of berry fruit. The nose stank in the best possible way. Cerebral and infinitely enjoyable. Mellowed out over the night & smooth, med bodied/tannins w/hint of zingy acidity on tongue. — 6 years ago
Very good! I would have it again 😁 — 8 years ago
