From Joel’s cellar offering a year or so ago. Outstanding freshness and vigor in this one. Light in color as most of the pigment had pasted itself on the sides of the bottle. Deep nose of plum/Healdsburg prune and cedar. Comes across as both primary and tertiary at the same time. Firm acidity with gripping tannins. — 3 years ago
From Healdsburg. Finally drinking it to celebrate the purchase of our new pony.

At Karen Warren reunion dinner. Best liked wine compared to the Spanish wines. Well, a totally different ball game. Mature, well developed soft silky texture that caresses. Yum. — 3 years ago
Last night we enjoyed the 2017 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. From Healdsburg, California, a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and small portions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
On the nose is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, cassis, herbaceous and graphite.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, cassis, some herbaceousness, a bit of chocolate, a bit woody and earth.
This is a beautiful winee that is medium + to full bodied and a smooth mouthfeel, medium to medium + acidity and medium + firm sandy mouthcoating tannins that moves easily into a long black fruit graphite earthy finish. Here it is the end of a wonderful weekend and I hope everyone's weekend was one of joy and happiness. The week ahead is upon us so please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
First stop on our MD trip this year was to Aperture Cellars in downtown Healdsburg.
First of the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings we tasted at Aperture Cellars with Lauren.
Deep ruby red. Layered nose with ripe berries, dark cocoa, tobacco leaves, leather and cinnamon with an earthy undertone. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of fall spices on the palate with some dark cocoa and blackberries. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032.
Tasted at the tasting room and retails for $95.00.
@Delectable Wine this is the Del Rio Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. — 8 years ago
The first of a great line up of wines at SingleThread Restaurant in Healdsburg (CA).
Those guys in my opinion are worthy of 3 stars when the Michelin guide will release their official US ratings next week.
As for the wine - one of the best domestic sparklers I've ever had! — 9 years ago
A refreshing bottle for certain, however the age has softened considerably the once crisp acid which is much more subdued now. Beautiful and light oak notes, vanilla cream soda, hint of butterscotch toffee, caramel and lash tropical fruits. At 276 cs production it's nearly impossible to find outside of his Healdsburg tasting room our private allocation. Absolutely delicious and just what the doctor ordered after a day on the beach to wash away the salt water residue. — 10 years ago
Wine bought at the Ehret testing room in Healdsburg. We had the 2018 vintage for father’s day 2023. We enjoyed it paired with grilled lambshops and fresh spinash. — 3 years ago
This wine we ooened is the 2012 Stonestreet Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Sonoma County, Healdsburg, California. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% parts Merlot and Malbec.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, fig, black currant, mint, licorice, chocolate, graphite, clove, cedar and earth.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, spice, herbs, black pepper, leather, gravel and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth rich mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + fine tannins that leaves you with a medium to long dark fruit earthy finish. Have a wonderful weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Healdsburg getaway! — 6 years ago
Nice nose, medium tannins with a smooth finish. Gift from my friend in Healdsburg Mike Lindstrom. Thanks Mike! — 8 years ago
Made an impromptu stop at Stonestreet the last time we were in Napa/Sonoma. Had a little unexpected time between tastings. Man it was sure HOT when we were there in September. I remember the estate was in great condition. Beautiful scenery and some of the views from eastern Healdsburg and Geyserville are hard to beat. It was about 95 degrees AT THE WINERY in the middle of a Napa heat wave. This wine hit the spot. A nice, crisp, lighter bodied wine with a crisp side to it, yet didn't feel as though your tongue was burning. Edges on this one were rounded even from the start. More of a lemon curd, but also some lime and honeysuckle. Middle had good weight, a little silkier than I had anticipated. The finish is lighter, mostly lemon and lime. Not a powerhouse, but was really nice on that 95 degree September "summer" day in Healdsburg, and pretty darn good tonight. — 8 years ago
