Lake chelan is coming up in the wine world with their Austrian German projects. — 8 months ago
Served blind by me at Sue Bell’s dinner party with Bruce Redman. After being tricked by Sue all week with blind tastings at the winery I was determined to get square. She was up to the task getting just the state wrong. Once I said Adelaide Hills she knew it was a Gruner. Hahndorf Hill are acknowledged as the best producers of Gruner in Australia. Taking its lead from the GV’s of Austria’s Kamptal region. Grapefruit, Citrus and stone fruit. A multi award winner on the Australian Show circuit. A gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards London 2020. — 3 years ago
Lemon pear flavor, pretty acidic, silvery yellow in color, very light and crisp, I liked it, good pair with a salad. — 3 months ago
High acid and pear, a little spicy (cilantro?) and slightly effervescent — 2 years ago
Clearance priced at my local supermarket, only Grüner in the joint. But is it so old it’s past peak? (Given wholesaler practices in my home state of Arizona, entirely possible) light straw, excellent clarity. Clean nose with some floral and mineral notes. Nice acidity finishing toward a lactic-citric blend. Light on the citrus flavors, maybe lemon pith and grapefruit peel, some spice also. Not quite bone dry. Better with food, and better an hour or two after opening. Still life in this bottle, not peaked yet, perhaps. A more structured experience than fruit forward, however. Not that typical a Grüner then... — 3 years ago
