great food wine, bright fruit. pop and pour. enough young tannins to make for a nice finish. — 7 hours ago
Vajra's NV Extra Brut Rosé N.S. Della Neve is incredibly characterful, sizzling out of the glass with leather, mesquite smoke, blackberry and white pepper. A blend of 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Pinot Noir, the structure of the former comes through loud and clear through bright acids and firm, powdery tannins. Sour berry fruit and mentholated herbs meet with salty stoniness in the mouth, elevated by a lively, fine mousse. It's not the most finessed sparkling wine you'll taste, but it's certainly charming. Cherry, acid, delicious! Great with anything red sauce and mild cheese. This is a party drink for good casual times. Barbecues, late night pizza, or 3rd bottle of wine for the night. This is a good bet. — a month ago
See several previous Delectable notes. Deeply coloured but not deep in palate - medium bodied. Liquorice and almonds, a juicy palate. Finishes with a skinnsy bitter note. Great with free range chicken legs. Probably best drunk young. From a highly reputable producer in GD Vayra. My last bottle of 6. — a month ago
This is the G.D. Vajra Rosa Bella (2023). It was made from mostly Nebbiolo grapes and, to a lesser extent, Dolcetto and Barera.
It has a beautiful combination of freshness and vivacity with bright red-berried, hibiscus, watermelon rind, and oyster shell characteristics. It’s crisp and delicious with medium alcohol (13.5% ABV) and bright acidity.
The winemaker’s tasting notes refer to a “sapidity” in this wine, which is defined as “a pleasant flavor,” but I have now learned that in winespeak this means a pleasing saline, mineral, and savory quality, which is absolutely evident in this glass. — 24 days ago
Very dry, high high acid. Leather, smoke, cedar, minerals. Not much fruit. Higher tannins. And a good borolo flavor — a month ago
"Odedi"
Light reddish in color with light intensity, and fresh red fruits on the nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity.
Showing red currants, cherries, strawberries light wood, spices, coffee and dark chocolates.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Barolo. Still very young and needs time to mature properly.
Elegant and rich. Fresh, easy drinking, and already enjoyable, even by itself. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Needs time to open up properly, so be patient. Good by itself or with food.
Would be nice to revisit it in 10 years.
