1966 vintage. Mid-shoulder fill. Lip under the foil an anthrax fever dream. Cleaned than up with an ice cube and a napkin. Used a Durand but this cork merely chuckled at it. Worst cork I’ve ever (tried to) extracted with a Durand. Bring out the funnel with screen to sift/filter out all the semi-ancient cork sed. Wasn’t going to decant as per usual guest wishes so went with the smallest decanter. Tasted 15 minutes, 45 minutes and 1.5 hours after opening. Light, well aged-Burgundy body. Substantial, (STILL!!!) feminine-styled offerings fruit/spicewise. Ummm…reason why Pichon-Lalande-and La Mission Haut-Brion-are my two fave BDX big guns. This was still showing better than you woulda thunk. 8.14.26 — 3 months ago
A beautiful classic Right Bank Bordeaux smooth, velvet texture with notes of dark plum, black cherry and a little cocoa. Medium to full body elegant rather than jammy. Best pairing with filet mignon, roast lamb. Elegant, smooth and beautifully balanced. — 6 months ago
Cherry, cassis, lil spice. — 10 months ago

My last of three.
The 05 vintage is basically perfect fruit etc…
This started a bit slow from an hour decant. It really pick up steam w/ the Waygu Ribcap.
The Bordeaux elegance & earth profound. The fruits are floral-laden. Dry blackberries, raspberries, both plum, with skin, dark cherries, dry strawberries, baked rhubarb, hints of raspberry, dark chocolate bar, light caramel, dark spice with a little heat, dry limestone. topsoil, dry riverstone, cigar box with ash, old used leather, dark forest floor with leaves, clove, touch of cinnamon, vanilla and a pinch of nutmeg sweet graphite, used charcoal, black tea, mid berry cola dark wuthering flowers, hence of lavender and old violets, perfect around acidity with a well-balanced structured, evenly tensioned finish that last minutes and lands on dry earth and spice with florals — 9 days ago

Deep ruby medium opacity, merlot heavy pomerol with noticeable tannins, leather and spice — 6 months ago
A high quality price ratio wine! Very approachable with soft tannins, dark fruit and sundry oak influences that make for a nice wine. This bottle cost less than $30!! — 9 months ago

Great value. Good fruit and lots of earth/mineral. Wifey liked it too. — 7 years ago
Stunning, lifted nose of violets, blackberry, red fruit, florals and a little barbecue-sauce savoriness, almost Côte-Rôtie-like in perfume. The palate is juicy, elegant and nicely mature, with good texture and freshness, but it lacks the excitement and precision of Sylvain Gauthier’s later wines. Unfortunately, there is also a touch of heat on the finish that I cannot get past. Beautiful aromatics, solid wine, but the palate keeps it at 9.3. — 4 months ago
Has aged remarkably well Probably because of the year. Drunk April 10, 2026. A great indicator for the aging of wine. Pomerol and this winery. — 7 months ago
Had the 2022 vintage in January 2026.
Maybe too young but appreciated. — 10 months ago
Great balance. Superb — 5 years ago
I am quite happy with this wine. Still a baby, but shows a lot of potential. It is a sleeper. Deep dark fruit. Leather, graphite, barnyard... — 8 years ago

2020 vintage. Last tasted 12.3.25 (9.2), 9.4.25 (9.3) and 4.10.25 (9.3). Slightly more golden and round up front. Back end picking up (?!?!) acidity since last visit. Deliciously all over the map and sloppy. We've all got a friend or two just like this. Why should wine be any different? 10.23.26. — 10 days ago
