A touch barnyard on the nose,
Heavier bodied with some great classic SA characteristics, green pepper, garden stalk, cocoa. Bitter acidity, tiny tannins. I love everything about this wine, except the wax encapsulation. I find this closure method rather short sighted, as no sommelier in the world wants to struggle with a wax dipped cork closure during service. Certainly no beverage manager would allow this on the list. — 5 years ago
Rustic in a very good way. Nose has crunchy red berries, juniper, stony gravel, and a teeny bit of leather. Forceful flavors buoyed by forceful acids, pure, zingy, cherry fruit and a chalky minerality. Some relatively soft tannin. Not an erudite, pinky-extended sipper, but a great wine for pasta night. — 6 years ago

2014 zichichi garage red. Not the Zin...but a nice petit Syrah mash up. Great, balanced blend. Big, juicy fruit - be an excellent pair for a hearty red meat. Too bad I’m a pescatarian. — 6 years ago
Lots of peach and apricot on both nose and palette. Very well balanced medium body white. Complex nose and lots of interesting flavor throughout. Very fun wine! — 8 years ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of red and black fruits with tobacco, chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.
Full-bodied and soft with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black cherries, black plums, black currants, coffee, light oak, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, earth, herbs and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This interesting red blend from Sierra Foothills is drinking very nicely now.
Spicy and tangy. Rich and fruit forward. Complex with a great and elegant mouthfeel.
This 7 year old is drinking at its peak now, and feels like a California Merlot.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes. I gave it a light chill and had it by the water. Really enjoyed the nose at this point.
I had this vintage 5 years ago, and it is so much better now. Worth the wait.
A blend of 48% Tempranillo, 39% Sangiovese and 13% Barbera. Only 725 cases were produced.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Better than my first bottle last June.
Parker 95 Wine Maker notes,
Derek Mossman began Garage Wine Company at a time when there were relatively few smaller, family owned wineries in Chile. He not only started his venture to produce hand made wines on a human scale, but also to buy fruit from and support farmers with great quality fruit throughout the country. Along the way, he also banded together a group of like minded wineries to create MOVI, a platform to promote smaller production wineries in Chile.
Tantalizing aromas of blueberries, violets, orange peel, raspberry leaf and aniseed with a touch of aromatic herbs that provide freshness. The palate is electric, with pulsing acidity, ultra-fine tannins and very good length. Both rustic and elegant, wild and subtle, it has precision, elegance, balance and life. Shows no alcohol nor wood. A fresh, Mediterranean blend from a vineyard that was forgotten, revived, regenerated and today shows what the Maule is capable of. — 6 years ago

First wine grape planted in North America? You have my attention. Fascinating history of this varietal that I highly recommend reading up on if you’re lucky to have a friend like @Brendan Devine buy you the Wine Grapes tome. The wine itself is really tasty, desert-like in your mouth and has that full almost raisiny note that a lot of natural wines have. Give it a shot. — 5 years ago

Better the second time! Old world spice coated in lush dark fruit. Figs. Baked Cranberry jam. — 8 years ago
This is the Las Higueras Vineyard Lot #72. I’ve requested Delectable add it.
On the nose; perfumed strawberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, cherries dark moist soil, blueberries, light baking spiceand field violets.
The body is full and rich. Tannins soft and beautiful yet a firm backbone. Fruits are candied in style. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, cherries, creamy raspberries, light minerality and dry top soil, dry stone, black cherry cola/licorice, excellent acid and beautiful polished, long finish.
