Mendocino - Zinfandel
Plum color, refreshing smooth dark berry smell, tiny hint of spice. Delectably smooth, feels decadent in my mouth, but super light and smooth, I can taste the acidity but smooth finish overall. I think I taste blackberries and a slightly tart agress but very subtle — 4 years ago
Fulcrum Wines Brosseau Vineyard Chalone Appellation Pinot Noir 2011, California
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose with blueberries, black plums, cranberries, raspberries, bell pepper, vegetables, herbs, oak, light vanilla, licorice, red candy, earth, spices and light black pepper.
Medium-bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Elegant and smooth.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, raspberries, leather, light vegetables, mint chocolates, oak, earth, licorice, herbs and black pepper.
Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very enjoyable Pinot Noir from the Chalone Appellation in California. Well balanced and very smooth with nice complexity and elegance.
This 7 year old Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is good by itself or with food. Very enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine. Needs an hour to open up properly.
This is not my usual style, but I liked it a lot. A very good quality Pinot Noir.

Small production, 150 cases, aged 11 months in French oak, 35% new. Met winemaker David Rossi who makes small batches by buying fruit from top vineyards and using a shared winery for crafting his small batch wines. Deep Ruby with a full range of berry aromas with wafts of earthy notes. On the palate blackberry & ripe cherry with oak and subtle spice. Fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and some dusty spice. Nice now but let’s see if it aged well. I’ll grab a bottle and put it aside. Check back! — 4 months ago
