Very delicious Pinot, but was expecting a little more complexity. Wonderful pairing with salmon. — 3 years ago
Just the right wine for fried oysters, Italian salad, and a three mushroom pizza. — 5 years ago

I look for a bacon/autumn leaves flavor in North American Pinot Noir, and this one delivers that in spades. That note is what is prominent on the nose and also comes through on the palette. There is some raspberry as well, but this is mostly a bacon/autumn leaves bomb. — 7 years ago
Spicy smokey flavor. Full body. Good pair with grilled beef steak. — 7 years ago

2022/2. This was the first bottle of this that I’ve had that seemed like it might be closing - if only a bit. — 4 years ago
Very smooth notes, not heavy. Pairs well with anything. Nice red! — 5 years ago
2019 edition. A little thin compared to prior years. Might be due to the relatively weak/disappointing 2019 KBS base. Nevertheless, the bourbon and maple syrup are both present and water nice. The alcohol is well balanced, it doesn't feel hot at all like other imperial stouts. — 7 years ago
2015 bottling. I don’t really drink stuff like this much anymore but this was very well made and delicious. — 8 years ago

The third and latest release of the Founder’s Reserve follows the tradition of the previous versions; a Bordeaux blend of sorts with a dollop of Syrah. Popped and poured; consumed over four days. The wine came across disjointed on Day 1 & 2. By day 3 it started to turn into something more interesting and Day 4 was best. Mostly blue and black fruits with dark cherries and figs, pipe tobacco, minerals, baking spices, a small touch of vanilla. Medium tannin. Medium plus acid. Finish is satisfying. A touch of heat on the finish but just. These need a few years to show their best. — 5 years ago
Well first off the was the 2012 vintage Syrah not merlot. Its a decent wine, good body. Dry finish. The original price I believe is 38 dollars and for that price there are other alternative wines that provide more of an experience. However, if there you can find this wine for the mid 20 dollar range it would be very good price and well worth the money. — 6 years ago
