Mother Mary of God! Just give me the bottle and a crazy straw. I want all my wine to taste this way.
The nose is; ruby and velvety elegance. Creamy, candied, ripe; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum & poached strawberries. Red licorice, candied, bright, florals for days. Dry crushed rocks, limestone, light, round granite, black licorice, sweet tarriness, expresso roast, dry leather, cedar, dry stems, vanilla, dark chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, light clove & nutmeg, beautiful, soft, herbaceous notes with crazy beautiful fields of; red, purple and blue flowers.
The body is full, round and the definition of elegance. The dark, tarry tannins are well rounded and have baby teeth. The structure, tension, length and balance are perfectly knitted together. Magnificent! Creamy, candied, ripe; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum & poached strawberries. Red licorice, candied, bright, florals for days. Dry crushed rocks, limestone, light, round granite, black licorice, sweet tarriness, expresso roast, dark, intense, spice with palate heat, dry leather, cedar, dry stems, vanilla, dark chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, light clove & nutmeg, saline, dry tobacco with ash, beautiful, soft, herbaceous notes with crazy fields of; red, purple and blue flowers. The acidity is round-elegant and like a warm shower. The finish is simply a forget about it experience. It is gorgeous & sexy and a wine I will never forget. This is a 100 point wine in short order. Don’t be foolish enough to open a bottle now unless you have at least 3-5 more. You’ll be robbing yourself of heaven.
Photos of; Chateau Palmer, their barrel room, a photo of their vineyard soil structure-if you didn’t know where all that earthiness comes from, a picture is worth a thousand words and their tasting room. — 7 years ago

Enjoyed over the course of 4 days and best on Day 4. On Day 1, this was poured into a decanter for two hours before being returned to the bottle. The quality was undoubted but it was just too primary; full of promise though! Day 4? Different story. Notes are descriptive of Day 4. The 2020 pours a deep ruby/slightly purple, with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining. On the nose, deep, dark brambles, plums, the most remarkable purple flowers you’ve ever smelled in a wine, anise, cocoa and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the structure is significant and even after four days, was unrelenting; medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirmed the notes from the nose. The finish is forever long, rich and tangy. A wine for hearty meals but just as lovely on its own. A wine for the patient as rushing a bottle at this stage is plain foolish. Easily a 30+ year wine. Better after 2025. @Lyle Fass 🙏🏽 — 2 years ago
Gorgeous nose of; lightly spiced, foral; ripe candied fruits. Bright floral bouquets of red flowers and violets with just a touch of herbaceousiness.
The body is full. Tannins are thick & meaty. Ripe light and dark red fruits. Brilliant acidity. Round polished finish.
More photos of two foolish field working picking at a much slower pace than the rest of the team and the Truquilemu Vineyard we picked Sunday. — 8 years ago
1st day, fine; 2nd even better; 4th day, its fine, but loose some fruity & coco. End up with some foolish acidity instead of chocolate — 9 years ago
It stormed out of the gates with aromas of strawberry and pink peppercorn. Wow, what a statement! And then the performance mellowed - coy about revealing more, especially on the palate. Eventually, air did coax out beautiful floral, white pepper, clove, plum, and even tea aromas. The palate however was as stubborn as a mule, offering just bright cherries and sometimes blackberries, on a silky light-to-medium body. As easy as this was to drink, you'd be as foolish as we were not to give it enough time to reveal all it's facades. An impressively complex wine from an underrated variety. — 4 years ago

This was from 375ml and was showing nice evolution. Beautiful wine drinking nicely.
On the palate; bright ripe, fresh cherries, strawberries, black cherries, cherries, strawberries, soft red roses, violets, round soft tannins, beautiful acidity, well polished finish.
