Château Le Coteau

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Classic, structured, dignified, familiar. Like stepping in to an Episcopal church. With all the positive and negative connotations that might hold. — 3 months ago

Jacob's Creek/Orlando

Centenary Hill Shiraz 2002

Second bottle of this vintage in my cellar. Better than the first, more fruit and spice, still very lively. So wish it was under screw cap. — 2 years ago

Ronchi di Cialla

Colli Orientali del Friuli Schioppettino di Cialla 1995

This was a friends wine that we shared with a number of other wines at an excellent meal at Paesano’s in S Philly. This wine is from Friuli and of the Schioppettino grape. Not being familiar with this wine and being 1995 vintage did not know what to expect but it drank great and was loaded with leather, dark plums and some tar. Very enjoyable, smooth long finish and lasted through out the meal. — 4 months ago

Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2015

As fresh as a spring daisy on the nose and palate. This hasn’t moved since it was bottled. I’m very impressed.
The nose presents lanolin and lemon oil and fresh-cut flowers. Palate is laser-focused with limes, grapefruit and gravel. Acid structure is pristine, yet powerful. I’m more familiar with BC’s pinots. This isn’t how I recollect the chard to be - wow! I think this is their entry-level offering, too. A very pleasant surprise… age is its friend.

Albarino I can get down with. Perfect balance of tropical fruit to herbaceousness. A wine that gets better with some age too, and is still a steal. — 7 months ago

One of my wines of the flight in a broad tasting of #Bierzo wines. This wine offers perfume, elegance ans structure that points to improvement with bottle age. — 3 years ago
