Aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and coastal wildflowers lead into a palate of pear, citrus oil, and crushed stone. The concrete egg and Austrian foudre lend purity and gentle roundness, while 15% new French oak adds subtle spice and toast. Bright acidity carries a saline, mineral-driven finish with impressive length and poise. — 4 months ago

[Sorry couldn't find an entry, logging here Failla 2018 Pearl essence] Single clone - Martini. One taste it surely reminds me of a bottle of Burn Cottage I had a while ago - the same acid lift and acid structure, tomato leaf, sour cranberry, citrusy and bright, red flowers and white + black peppers. 400-500 feet inland, super cool microclimate. Ah it turns out both connected to ted lemon! — 4 years ago
Amazing how well it’s held up. Recommend a decant it was waaaaaaay better after open for 90 minutes. Oak shows prominently at first especially on the nose but integrates with air to reveal pretty apricot flavors and even some floral notes. Just awesome. — 6 years ago

Deep and savory. Brooding blue and black fruit. Black pepper, black olives, and eucalyptus. Moderate acidity. Polished but still thoughtful. — 8 months ago

This wine will be excellent after at least 2 plus years of bottle aging. Go out and get some, I have access if you need it. — 4 months ago
Leads with wound-up but bright and saline olive notes, then develops with big, plush red fruit, bell pepper, a kind of piquant green tang reminiscent of fennel or tarragon, savory blood. Deep, rich, and extremely generous. I would have thought I was drinking a French Syrah far above my price range. Worth cellaring a few right away. — 8 months ago
Wonderful light finish. — 6 years ago
Unique Cali chard. Still a little grippy. The oak is very present on this 3+ year old, which is not surprising. There’s a lot to like here. Chewy and complex. Will be amazing to see this in 5 years. Thanks @Ehren Jordan — 7 years ago
