der Hundspoint Grüner Veltliner 2019

One of the signature grapes of Austria, medium lemon with aromas of white flesh fruits, spice, biscuit and fresh citrus floral notes. On the palate pear, melon and tangy lemon citrus flavors with earthy herb tones and pepper spice. Well balanced, medium finish ending with lemon zest. Nice value, will benefit with some short term aging. — 11 hours ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2012

First ever Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Shopkeep says vintner doesn't release wines until they are ready and that this one reminds him of old school RRV Pinot.

Definitely some aged character on this. Needed time to breathe, but it revealed a beautiful bouquet of eucalyptus, blood orange peel, red clay, and freshly baked cherry pie. Lovely balanced finish. The aging paid of big time. Love it.

Königsberg Riesling 2018

Star bright straw gold with rose gold highlights. Dried apple and dried flowers on the inviting nose. Firm acidity leads the medium light palate of baked quince, dried white flowers, white pepper, and a hint of flint all of the way through to the moderate finish. Laser focus on this Austrian beauty. Pork, game fowl, or scallops will have an excellent match. Drink now through 2028. — 11 days ago

High Slopes Fort Ross Vineyard Pinot Noir 2003

Fascinating to revisit this wine - still showing beautifully w/very consistent profile from previous occasions... so much time left on this. For those unfamiliar w/Fred Scherrer - he started at Dehlinger and then struck out on his own. He’s a UCD guy (my Alma Mater)... I used to rep his wine and it’s incredible across his portfolio. — a month ago

Platt Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

Wow Fred! Another great Platt Vineyard designate pinot noir. 14.5% ABV. 230 cases produced, get your hands on this offering if you have the opportunity. Vineyard overlooks the town of Bodega, CA. Very cool climate, well farmed. Flavors: black, blue and red fruit, maraschino cherry, plum blossom, nuanced red beet and smoked meat. Has minerality and complexity. 2014 vintage has deeper-toner presentation. 93 points by Antonio Galloni.Quite frankly this is one of the best pinot noirs I have ever experienced. Paired with an Indian butter chicken, mixed salad, and Chocolate Black Out Cake! What an experience. This wine delivered with each menu item. — 16 days ago

14.8% ABV Doesn’t seem that high. Dark fruit, earthy, has legs. — 2 months ago

Röschitz Die Terrasse Reipersberg Grüner Veltliner 2019

Pro ratings are on the mark here. Refreshing #grunerveltliner from #weinviertel. Lovely wet chalk, faint chives and vegetal notes, crisp acidity, touch of spritz when you first open the bottle and some citrus and white pepper on the finish. Here is your green salad slayer pairing wine. — 2 months ago
