Finally took a drive and picked up our Donum quarterly allocation....stopped at Mustards Grill in Napa for some dinner takeout! Order anything it's all great food!!

Double decant and pour. A fetching medium red color. On the nose: very fragrant...strawberry and more strawberry with floral, woodsy, and cherry notes. Taste: a restrained, Burgundy style with cherry, wet leaves, herbs, tea, and gravel. A dry wine (med acidity) with a medium plus finish. — 6 years ago

As noted previously, we have found that KBs under Michael have aged well; this SC continues this pattern; initial pour oak dominated the aromatics which resolved to a dark fruit profile after sitting for 15 minutes; palate continued dark purple to fruit profile with a long finish…no noticeable aging in color though palate is less fruit forward than a few years ago — 4 years ago

Decanted 30 minutes before serving with beef roast. Melts in your mouth at first, having surprising suppleness and fruit for 15.2 alcohol. As it warms and is exposed to oxygen it heats up without losing finesse. The best Zinfandel I’ve tried, and this is a blend from 29 vineyards. I need to climb my way up the Turley ladder and I don’t think I’ll come back down. — 6 years ago
