Had ‘16 vintage on 20 Dec, ‘21. Big wine with lots of structure and fruit. String and lasting finish. May benefit from a bit more bottle age... — 4 years ago
Red fruits, licorice and spices on the nose. Not very typical. The palate is very young and lively. Nice red berries all along, strong acid drive, good width with matter on the sides, there is an almost milky mouthfeel with a nice soft touch which goes up to the mid palate tannins part. The finish is kicked off with that string acid drive, these nice and easy tannins, that lovely tangy red fruit and these spices. Too young and needs some food to show its bright side. It was paired with a massive rare T-bone steak on the barbecue which helped the wine show off a bit. — 6 years ago
This organically grown Barbera is a gorgeously full-bodied wine with deep berry flavors and a lovely finish. It's delicious with pasta, beef, string cheeses, and even fish dishes like tuna or salmon." — 2 years ago
Prior notes still mostly apply, decanted +3H. Lighter acidity (👍) and a touch more neutral-ish oak notes, showing beautiful tonight!
Nose has green apple slice, under-ripe pear, garden fresh string beans, cold butter and fresh green apple peel.
Palate has baked green apple with sprinkle of sugar, lemon pith, river stones, lemon zest with medium acidity and a long finish.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, without orchestra or conductor 😉. Three humble souls playing an all BEETHOVEN program (Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor (Opus 1, No. 3) and Symphony No. 2 in D (Opus 36, arr. for piano trio by Beethoven)) with a few of the best players of instruments containing strings, Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Leonidas Kavakos (violin) and Emanuel Ax (piano). A true delight for lovers of Classical music this evening! — 5 years ago
